17.01.2023

In November 2022, Armed Forces of Ukraine have liberated Snihurivka city in the Mykolaiv region. The city was under the Russian occupation for 8 months. During these months, citizents lived under shelling, without water and gas.

Russian troops invaded Snihurivka in late March 2022. The city plays important strategic role, as the roads to Mykolaiv and Kherson as well as to Kryvyi Rih begin here. From the first days of occupation, Russian forces begun to fortify their positions around the city to hold it.

In late September 2022, Snihurivka along with occupied Kherson region was “annexed” to the Russian Federation as a result of so-called “referendum”. However, at the beginning of November Russian troops had left this area because of Ukrainian counteroffensive.
